Röyksopp was good.
Good in one fucking amazing way! (That's right, so good it incites obscenities!) And that just begins to describe the incredible presence they bare upon you with each beat. The lights, which in any other context would have just been silly (some bygone relic of the 80's), perfectly jelled with the melody, bass and beats that they pounded out to the audience.

The dynamic duo of Röyksopp performed some amazing mixes of the tracks off their incredible first album, Melody A.M., to what was definitely critical acclaim if ever I've heard. The only down note of the night, was being conscious of how much better this performance could have been in a real club; but despite the obvious limitations of the Irving Plaza establishment, the crowd throbbed away.... Myself included, lost in the enormous space that permeated the wake created by the rhythms and colors (from which the melody and sounds seem to emanate!) of Svein Berge's and Tørborn Brundtland's arrangements. Pure synaesthesia!
